1.       Save Function–records all inputs (by joypad). #0405 PS2™ Playback has a built-in 4M memory, which can continuously record inputs for up to 5 minutes.

2.       Replay–replays records saved. User can choose to replay once or keep replaying continuously.

3.       Turbo–user can set more than one (at most, all eight) of the eight buttons: 'triangle', 'square', 'cross', 'circle', 'L1', 'L2', 'R1', 'R2' to turbo mode at 4 different speeds. The 4 different turbo speeds for user to select from are: 8 bits per second, 12 bits per second, 16 bits per second, 32 bits per second.

4.       Delete and Format–deletes a single memory, or formats the whole memory space.

#0405 PS2™ Playback using guide:

1. Format the whole memory or Delete a single record

#0405 PS2™ Playback has a built-in 4M memory, which can continuously record inputs for up to 5 minutes.

User can format the 4M memory into one of the following formats.

1)       One record area with 4M .

2)       Two record areas with 2M each.

3)       Four record areas with 1M each.

                               (Figure 3)

User can follow the steps below to format the whole memory or delete a single record:

1)       In area D, select Erase mode (please refer to Figure 3)

 2)       In area C, select one of the following data format.

I )   1  one record area of 4M .

II)  1 & 2 two record areas of 2M each.

III) ALL four record areas of 1M each.

If the user selects a format different from the recording format (the format that records were made in), all of the LEDs in area A will keep flashing continuously.

If the user selects a format which is the same as the recording format (the format that records were made in), if the record area has data inside, their corresponding LEDs in area A will light up.

***#0405 PS2™ Playback's default format is ALL, therefore if user selects 1 or 1 & 2 during the first format process, all of the LEDs in area A will keep flashing continuously

3)       Format the whole memory: If the user selects a format which is different from the recording format (the format that records were made in), all of the LEDs in area A will keep flashing continuously. At this moment, if the user holds down one of the flashing buttons in area A for 3 seconds, format process will start. During the format process, the LEDs in area A will flash from utox, each for several times, in a sequence. After that, all of the LEDs in area A will flash for several times simultaneously and then turn off. Finally, the operation LED at the left top corner will be green and that means the format process is completed successfully.

Delete single record: If the user selects a format which is the same as the recording format (the format that records were made in), if the record area has data, its corresponding LED at area A will grow up. At this moment, if the user keeps pressing one of the glowing buttons at area A for 3 seconds, the data at the corresponding record area would be deleted. During the delete process, the LED of that button at area A will flash rapidly for several times. After that, all of the LED at area A will flash for several times, at the same time, and then turn off. At last, the LED at the left top corner will become green in color and that means the delete process is completed successfully.

2. Record Function

#0405 PS2™ Playback records all inputs (by joypad). #0405 PS2™ Playback has a built-in 4M memory, which can continuously record inputs for up to 5 minutes.

User can follow the steps below to use the record function:

1)       In area D, select the SAVE mode.

 2)       In area C, select one of the following data format.

I )  1  one record area of 4M , corresponding to the button u in area A.

II) 1 & 2 two record areas of 2M each, corresponding to the buttons u and v in area A.

III) ALL four record areas of 1M each, corresponding to the buttons u, v, wand xin area A.

If the user selects a format which is different from the recording format (the format that records were made in), all of the LEDs in area A will keep flashing continuously and that means the wrong data format is selected.

If the user selects a format which is the same as the recording format (the format that records were made in), all of the LEDs of buttons u, v, wand x(that are available) in area A will light up, and that means the correct data format is selected.

(To change the data format, user must format the memory. For the details of the data format, please refer to the above point:“1. Format the whole memory or Delete a single record”)

3)       After selecting the correct data format, if the record area (u, v, wand x) has data, its corresponding LED in area A will glow. User can only select those empty record areas (button u, v, wand xwith LED in area A off) for recording. If all record areas are used, user must delete the data of one or all of the record areas, so as to start recording.

(To format the memory or delete a single record, please refer to the above point: “1. Format the whole memory or Delete a single record” for details)

4)       After completing the above settings, press a button in area A that isn't glowing, recording process starts at once. During the recording process, the corresponding LED in area A will keep flashing. When the memory of that record area is almost used up, the corresponding LED in area A will flash slowly. After the recording process is finished, that LED in area A will glow up, which means the corresponding record area has data inside. During the recording process, user can stop recording by pressing the “STOP” button in area B at any time.

 Please note that:

1.        If user selects 1 & 2 in area C as data format, and there is data inside u in area A and it's LED is glowing; then the user can only select button v for recording. Although the LEDs of wx are not glowing, it doesn't mean that they are empty and ready for recording. Because the data format is 1 & 2 , it would be meaningless to press wxin area A to record.

2.        If user stops the recording by pressing the “STOP” button in area B, user must not press any button before the LED at the left top corner glows again, or the recording may fail.

3. Replay function

There are two replay modes:

1)  Replay Once Mode–Replay the record once

2)  Continuous Replay Mode–Keep replaying the record continuously

User can follow the steps below to use the  Replay Once Function or the  Continuous Replay Function :

1)       In area D, select  Replay Once Mode or  Continuous Replay Mode

2)       In area C, select the correct data format, please note that the left one is the Turbo Mode and not one of the data formats (After selecting the Turbo Mode, the operation LED at the left top corner will become red). If the user selects the wrong data format, all of the LEDs in area A will keep flashing to remind the user. (For details of the data format, please refer to the above point:“1. Format the whole memory or Delete a single record”)

3)       After the user selects the correct data format in area C, if the recording area has data, its corresponding LED in area A will grow. User can press the button in area A to replay the data of the corresponding recording area.

4)       During the replay process, the corresponding LED in area A will keep flashing, user can press the “STOP” button in area B to stop the replay at any time.

4. Turbo Function

                            (Figure 4)

Turbouser can set more than one (at most, all eight) of the eight buttons; 'triangle', 'square', 'cross', 'circle', 'L1', 'L2', 'R1', 'R2' to turbo mode at 4 different speeds. The 4 different turbo speeds for user to select from are: 8 bits per second, 12 bits per second, 16 bits per second, 32 bits per second.

User can follow the steps below to set up the turbo function:

1)       In area C, select TURBO. (Please note that after the Turbo mode is selected, all other functions include replay and record function will disable, and the operation LED at the left top corner will become red.)

2)       Press and hold down the button you would like to set as turbo, and then press one of the u vwxbutton on #0405 PS2™ Playback area A at the same time to set the turbo speed. uis the slowest turbo speed (8 bits per second), xis the fastest turbo speed (32 bits per second). (Please note that after a button is set to turbo, when that button is pressed and held down, the operation LED at the left top corner would keep flashing. The flashing rate is different for different turbo speeds.)

3)       To set another button as turbo, or to reset the turbo speed, please repeat step 2. To cancel a button’s turbo function, user needs to press and hold down the button, and press the “STOP” button in area B on the #0405 PS2™ Playback. (Please note that after canceling a button’s turbo function, when that button is pressed and held down, the operation LED at the left top corner will not flash)

#0405 PS2™ Playback Important notes

1)       When using any function other than Turbo function, before pressing any button on the #0405 PS2™ Playback, please make sure that the operation LED at the left top corner has turned green already; otherwise the #0405 PS2™ Playback may fail to function.

2)       In area C, if a wrong data format is selected, all the LEDs in area A will keep flashing continuously.

3)       If the #0405 PS2™ Playback cannot work properly (e.g. fail to replay), it's very likely because the user has gone against "Important notes 1". To solve this problem, user can format the memory and try again. (For the details of the format function, please refer to the above point:“1. Format the whole memory or Delete a single record”)

4)       No matter which function is running, including the replay function, to let the #0405 PS2™ Playback functioning properly, Sony Official PS1TM or PS2 joypad must be connected to the #0405 PS2™ Playback. Our #0405 PS2™ Playback is not guaranteed to be compatible with any third party joypads.
